31/08/2026 Today we kicked off the 2nd edition of #MATBIOX at @Uniwersytet Warszawski! We started with a tour of the historic campus, then moved to the Faculty of Psychology, our home for the week. Prof. Dariusz Wrzosek gave the opening keynote. Great atmosphere—bring on Day 2! @4EUplus
01/09/2026 Day 2 of #MATBIOX was all about modelling population dynamics and evolution. Luis Almeida @Sorbonne and Matteo Brilli @University of Milan led us through lectures and hands-on workshops. We ended the day with a wonderful dinner and a walk through Warsaw by night. What a lovely day! @4EUplus
02/09/2026 Day 3 of #MATBIOX we are excited about excitable media ⚡ Pavel Haman @Charles University started the day with neurons and neural networks, followed by Stan Mareé @Cardiff Univrsity with a broader view of excitable media. The afternoon brought Pavel’s hands-on neuronal workshop and Stan’s beautifully clear introduction to phase-plane analysis. @4EUplus
03/09/2026 Day 4 of #MATBIOX Hydra Day! We spent the whole day exploring different ways to model Hydra regeneration. Szymon Cygan @Heidelberg University introduced reaction–diffusion models of Hydra, and after lunch added a biomechanical perspective. Stan Mareé @Cardiff University then took us through Turing’s ideas. And, of course, there were hands-on exercises, and plenty of use of the whiteboard! @4EUPlus
04/09/2026 Day 5 of #MATBIOX What was all this good for? Urszula Foryś from @Uniwersytet Warszawski explored modelling in tumorigenesis, pharmacokinetics and medicine. Jindrich Brejcha from @CharlesUniPRG closed the Summer School by reflecting on the philosophy of modelling and the evolutionary importance of process thinking. Then came the farewells. Thank you, Warsaw. Thank you @Nava and @4EUPlus!
MATBIO EXCHANGE successfully took place, and we truly enjoyed it.
The programme is available bellow same as the photogallery.
A delightful surprise at the end of the workshop was receiving personal praise from Elena Del Giorgio, 4EU+ Secretary General.
